“Thinking of Something Else” gathers a body of works. The artwork stems from a reflection on knowledge, identity and memory as cultural acts.
A mask with a phallic nose and breasts in place of the mouth is produced in various formats and materials. On a smaller scale, the work becomes edible: the dough of Proust’s madeleine evokes a multiplicity of temporalities. This multiplicity of perceptions is also alluded to in the series of embroidered works.

Description
“Thinking of Something Else” brings together a series of works centred on a mask created in 2024. The work stems from a reflection on knowledge and memory as cultural acts, questioning the collective memory. Certain elements challenge categories such as gender and identity.
The mask, oversized in relation to human scale, is nonetheless wearable, covering not only the face but also the shoulders and part of the torso: it prevents binocular vision, has a phallic nose, and breasts in place of the mouth. Gender gives way to sexes, which coexist.
Reduced to a smaller scale, the work becomes edible: made from the dough of Proust’s madeleine, it disrupts the search for lost time.
‘What I think / When I think / What you think / is something else’ is inscribed on a series of embroidered works of art, featuring the outline of the mask.
