999: A Collection of Questions About Contemporary Living, 2018, Triennale, Milano (Italia), curated by Stefano Mirti

On the occasion of the exhibition “999: A Collection of Questions About Contemporary Living”, curated by Stefano Mirti at Triennale in Milan, the Con MOI association was invited to conduct a workshop and create a publication.

The workshop, titled “Social Craft: How to Inhabit Displaced Homes?”, aimed to engage the public in a collaborative environment where artistic practices, skills, and perspectives on the theme of living within a transcultural group could be shared. Visitors were encouraged to contribute to the discussion by proposing concepts, visions, and new perspectives on living, all aimed at designing a shared and expanded living space. Various materials, including 3D technology, textiles, and cardboard, were utilised in this creative process.

The publication, titled “Occupy the Imaginary”, is part of a collection of booklets that constitute the exhibition catalogue. The text within it is a collaborative narrative created by the members of Con MOI, reflecting dreams of a collective dwelling that revitalises abandoned spaces through active living. The words are distributed throughout the pages of the booklet, accompanying images enhanced by pictorial inserts.
