An object, modified clogs, and a performative act, refer to the slow act of walking, echoing the ‘walking people’ evoked by Frantz Fanon.

Description
Walking, as a gesture of caring for the Earth, becomes a performative act in the daily practice that Rebecca De Marchi performs wearing modified clogs that print the text kakra kakra on the ground, which in Twi (the main Ghanaian indigenous language) means slowly. Echoing Frantz Fanon, ‘Kakra kakra’ becomes a metaphor for moving forward with respect.
