“Cashew-head Person” is part of the series dedicated to the organic cashew library. Formalised also in a series of collages, accompanied by pictorial inserts, the work is presented by inserting the sheets between transparent rectangular panels resting horizontally on worktops, recalling the slides used in chemical analyses.

The healing knowledge of the cashew is at the core of the work of art that alludes to the magical power of women and the dissemination and protection of the wisdom inherent in the relationship between human beings and plants that characterises diasporic processes and contributed to the Maroons’ redemption from slavery.
