Artist and curator. Graduated with a Master’s Degree in Architecture at Politecnico di Torino, De Marchi earned a Master in Curatorial Studies in Contemporary Art, Università di Torino and Contemporary Art Museum Castello di Rivoli, in 2004, and a practice based PhD in Fine Art and Curatorial Practices (Painting and Sculpture option), at KNUST Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi, Ghana, in 2023 with the supervision of prof. kạrî’kachӓ seid’ou. She is part of the blaxTARLINES collective, invited in 2022 to documenta fifteen in Kassel curated by ruangruppa, taking part to the Gudskul, and in 2026 to the 61st Venice Biennale titled In Minor Keys, curated by Koyo Kouoh.
From 2003 to 2016, she curated the public art programme Eco e Narciso conceived by herself as an artist and sponsored by the Provincia di Torino. From 2017 to 2022, she has curated the socially engaged project Saluzzo Rural Happening conceived by herself and supported by Garuzzo Foundation.
De Marchi was a member of Con MOI Association –a community of intention composed of people with different backgrounds and origins– that, among other activities, produced the movie “Joy”, directed by Daniele Gaglianone, launched at Biennale di Venezia in 2017.
In 2018 a solo show of her artwork ‘Ecumene Adele’ took place at Davide Paludetto Gallery in Turin, curated by Francesca Comisso. ‘Lo Sai?’ (2021), ‘A Place Where Only Salt is Lacking’ (2022), ‘Atiāa Duase. A-sygnifing Allegory’ and ‘The Legend of Cashew-head Persons’ (2023) solo show took place in Kumasi (Ghana), the last three curated by Zoe KɔKɔɔ. Her artwork “Lo Sai?” has been part of the BIENALSUR 2021 ‘A New Order. Breaking Down Borders’ exhibition, curated by Diana Wechsler. In 2024 De Marchi’s works created during the art residency were exhibited at Nubuke Foundation in Wa (Ghana) part of a collective show curated by Sela Kodjo Adjei. In 2025 with her artwork “Samuel Pieta: Perspettintesi” she partecipates to an exhibition at P.A.R.I. Polo delle Arti Relazionali e Irregolari in Torino. In 2026 solo shows of her artworks have taken place in Kumasi at the Water Gallery, curated by niiankama, and in Genova at the Palazzo Bronzo, curated by Costanza Meli.
Currently lecturer at the Fine Art Academy in Venice, De Marchi has been visiting professor at Fondazione Pistoletto – Unidee Academy in Biella, NABA in Milano and ABADIR in Catania. In 2025 De Marchi leads the Officina di Video Tessitura at the Accademia Ligustica, Genova, invited by prof. Costanza Meli’s course Semiotica dell’arte, which has resulted in 2026 in an group exhibition at Castello de Albertis in Genova.
She has produced many publications, from the Eco e Narciso’s catalogues to texts for the book Working Geographies and monographic catalogues on Luca Vitone and Hassan Issah, among others.
With the project Back to Small Stage in 2022-23 has been among the recipients of the Italian Council international research grant for artists, on the invitation of SCCA in Tamale, the contemporary art centre founded by the artist Ibrahim Mahama.
She has been artist in residence at Ofkob 2022, Fumesua; in 2023 at the Nubuke Foundation, Wa; and in 2026 at Nkyinkyim Museum in Ada, all in Ghana.
